The East Village Studio [via DigsDigs]

“The East Village Studio is a tiny apartment that serves owners for both living and working. It has only about 500 square feet of space and made like an open studio.”

Puts a damper on rolling out of bed.

In my eyes, this is not a “tiny” apartment… ?

500 sq ft is a decent size for a studio in a city. They could use some book shelves and the decor is abso-friggin-lutely horrid, but I like the loft!

My space 220 sq ft but I’ve almost doubled it by making a pseudo loft on hydraulics that helps me make use of the 12 foot ceilings.

If you roll our of bed, you’re f**ked.

Haha if you are drunk you better sleep on the couch!

definitely a beautiful space. The blood spatter that will inevitably sprinkle the stares to the bed should provide a nice bergundy accent after a few weeks.

Yeah, I think thats what it needs, a little bit of color and contrast! hehe ; )

I love it! :D great idea to improve a compact-living (or our spanish “minipisos”)
although you’re right about the bed, makes me dizzy lol

Nice looking, great for one (small) person, would love to see it scaled up into a larger space for a couple.

  • 04/08/2010 at 6:14 am Carolyn

It is cute but for a larger person the bathroom does not give enough room

oh, i wish i could have this place all to myself, in portland, oregon! perfect for one person with small needs, yet has a pretty nice kitchen(the most important room in the house). sign me up!

I’m in love with this space. I think I’d prefer to live in a small well put together space, rather than a large manilla suburban home.

A small, cozy place forces us to live simpler lives. I have too much Stuff. I could be perfectly happy in a place like this, with just the basics.

I love this flat. Lots of good design solution for a tiny space.

I love it, except the bathroom…
the toilet is way too close to the shower door.

Beautiful design! Great design can make wonders for a small space. Especially love the little loft with the bed and the storage stairs leading up to it. Brilliant :)
